Why First Aid Training?

£0. 00 0 items premier first aid was founded in 2007 by our managing director maurice wadding. Maurice spent over 21 years with the national ambulance service and now brings that experience to classroom. We are now delivering over 40 courses nationwide a month. Our courses are delivered in a professional and friendly manner, with the student experience at the heart of what we do. We deliver a wide range of courses including first aid, manual handling, patient moving & fire warden training. We also deliver instructor training. We offer in house or public training courses depending on our customers requirements.

The safety, health and welfare at work (general application) regulations 2007: part 7 – chapter 2: regulation 165(1)(b) requires employers to designate at each place of work under the employer’s control the number of first-aiders as is necessary to give first aid training at the place of work concerned. Phecc has designed the first aid response (far) standard to offer appropriate training to individuals and groups who require a first aid skill set including cardiac first response. This standard is designed to meet first aid and basic life support (bls) requirements that a person known as “first aid responder” may encounter.

First aid training service is a galway based company. We provide first aid courses nationally. We specialise in training for the corporate, business, industry & the general public. All our instructors & examiners hold current certification from the national ambulance training school, and have field experience in first aid for many years. Instructors hold current certification as emergency medical first responders accredited to dubin fire brigade and national ambulance training school all our instructors have formal training and certification in training and facilatation awarded by the irish institute of training & development (iitd).

The health & safety authority (hsa) now recognises the phecc first aid response (far) training course as meeting the needs of occupational first aid. The far standard was developed by the pre-hospital emergency care council (phecc) an independent statutory body who set the standards for education and training for pre-hospital emergency care in ireland. On completion of this 3-day course, the first aid responder will be equipped with the necessary practical skills, knowledge and confidence to give effective life support, diagnose and treat injuries or illness, and maintain care and comfort of a patient who has become suddenly ill or injured in the workplace or elsewhere until the arrival of emergency medical services.

When to go to an emergency department

Providing first aid to injured or wounded employees in the workplace requires a lot of preparation. Aside from knowing which conditions need to be attended to, employers should also train their employees to prepare some first aid essentials when applying for first aid treatment. With the right first aid gear, employee responders can quickly respond to workplace emergencies. Some basic first aid kit supplies that every workplace should include are: first aid instructions sling tourniquet and other similar items. Ideally, it would be best if each department in your company had a first aid kit with all the essential medical supplies. The purpose of this emergency kit is to help the injured employee get immediate medical attention while waiting for a medical team to arrive.
